The Situation

A local media marketing company saw its cash flow being diminished due to large customers not paying their invoices on time. This resulted in limited cash to pay its suppliers and potentially jeopardizing important relationships for media buying in the future.

The Solution

Fulling Management organized the company’s financial operations and developed a system to track outstanding receivables before they become delinquent. Fulling contacted both the customers and vendors to establish payment arrangements and managed the cash flow to accommodate the companies   involved.

Within 45 days, the company collected 100% of the aged receivables (over $100,000) and was able to pay each vendor in full. The Situation

As the Chief Executive Officer of a third-generation family business, Ted Thompson wears many hats. That’s why when he met Rusty Fulling at an EntreLeadership Summit he was intrigued by the idea of outsourcing financial services for his company. Ted took Rusty’s card and filed it away. When his staff accountant quit soon after meeting, Ted found Rusty’s card and engaged Fulling Management & Accounting. As a small business, Thompson Dryers doesn’t have the luxury of succession planning. It was critical to bring in financial expertise quickly.

The Results
Fulling tracked projects to make sure Thompson was billing properly and collecting revenues promptly, and in turn paying their vendors on time. With the job status spreadsheet, Fulling caught several late billings totaling anywhere from $10-20,000. 

When Thompson Dryers was working at an out-of-state job and at risk of losing five percent of the revenue, Fulling stepped in and got the company registered in that state.

Fulling also took on a number of additional financial roles, negotiating benefit renewals and tax savings.  Fulling negotiated with the CPA firm that prepared Thompson Dryer’s tax return, reducing one of their bills by 50 percent.

The Situation

In order to grow the company, the new CEO of Centaur Animal Health needed more accurate financial statements and better financial controls. He considered hiring an in house accountant, although the position he needed would require various skill sets including bookkeeping, accounting and, if possible, some higher level CFO experience. Since the CEO spent a majority of his time at a satellite office, he also wanted a local management presence at the Olathe, Kansas company headquarters that could assist with the internal operations.

THE ONE YEAR ADVENTURE NOVEL

The Situation

As Dan himself admits, he and his wife Carrol didn’t aspire to be business owners when they originally began developing educational materials.  Their high school writing curriculum, The One Year Adventure Novel and writing workshops began growing in popularity.   Dan and Carrol were faced with handling business processes like payroll, bookkeeping and maintaining a home-grown customer database.
