Position Details

    • Front-facing, relationship-driven role serving a portfolio of small to mid-size businesses

    • Functions as a trusted financial advisor — not just an accountant — embedded in each client's ongoing success

    • This is not a back-office position — regular daily, weekly, and monthly client interaction is central to the role

    • Maintains oversight of core accounting processes — accounts payable, receivables, reconciliation, and reporting

    • Supports clients in understanding their numbers, troubleshooting challenges, and building toward their goals

    • Balances financial precision with big-picture thinking to help each client's business improve and grow

    • Serve as a trusted Virtual CFO and strategic partner for a portfolio of small to mid-size businesses — acting as their ongoing financial advisor, problem-solver, and growth champion

    • Build and maintain strong client relationships through regular, meaningful communication — learning their needs, anticipating challenges, and consistently delivering results

    • Lead client management and accounting meetings, translating complex numbers into clear, actionable business insights owners can actually use

    • Develop and monitor operational budgets aligned to each client's unique goals and growth strategy

    • Turn financial chaos into clarity — oversee accounting processes (AP, AR, reconciliation, and reporting) and equip clients to make smarter, more confident decisions

    • Think and act strategically to improve business operations, guide goal-setting conversations, and map out the financial path to get there

    • Provide sound, high-integrity business advice with a consistent commitment to quality, accountability, responsiveness, and follow-through

    • Lead the internal team supporting each client portfolio — fostering strong collaboration, clear communication, and the high standards that define Fulling Management

    • Degreed Accountant with 10+ years of relevant experience — multi-client experience with small to mid-size businesses strongly preferred

    • Proficient in QuickBooks Desktop / QBO and MS Office

    • Strong communicator — able to translate complex financial data into clear, plain-language business advice

    • Forward thinker — proactive and detail-oriented; you anticipate and prevent client challenges before they surface

    • Solid financial analysis skills, including experience presenting financial statements and performance reports to business owners

    • Detail-oriented, critically minded, and organized — comfortable managing multiple clients and priorities simultaneously

    • Passionate about the mission of Fulling Management & Accounting and invested in clients' long-term success

    • CPA preferred, though not required

    • This position is fully remote — work from anywhere! When travel is possible, we get together once a year for a team vision event in Kansas City
