We are looking for an experienced Accounting Team Lead/Small Business CFO to join our team. This is a player/coach leadership role within our accounting firm. The position includes overseeing a team of Account Managers/Small Business CFO’s as well as owning a small portfolio of clients. The ideal candidate has leadership experience, an accounting background, and has worked with small to mid-sized businesses (ideally multiple clients at once).

Position Details

Lead a team of Account Managers, Controllers, Staff Accountants and Bookkeepers to deliver excellent client accounting services.
Serve as ongoing CFO / Accounting Manager for multiple small and mid-size businesses
Daily/Weekly/Monthly interaction with team members and clients
Process oversight for accounts payable, receivables, reconciling, etc.
Business problem solver - Help our clients improve and grow their businesses

Team leadership – setting the standard for excellent client service and holding the team accountable for delivery to their clients
Regular communication with clients to learn their needs and deliver results
Assist clients in developing operational budgets – for their clients and the clients their team owns
Strategic thinking towards improving business operations and promoting company growth
Ability to take a mess and create clarity
Provide sound business advice for client’s questions
Lead client management & accounting meetings
Provide high quality work and integrity in business activities

Expert, degreed accountant with 7+ years’ experience
CPA and/or MBA are helpful, though not required
High level software experience (QuickBooks, QBO, MS Office)
Excellent communication and organizational skills
Detail oriented / Strong critical thinking / Business minded

This position is fully remote. When travel is possible, we get together once a year for a team vision event. Otherwise you can work from anywhere!
