Flexible Paid Time Off (Vacation, Sick Leave & Personal Time Benefits)
All regular full-time (regularly scheduled 40 hours per week) employees receive Paid Time Off. For Regular Full-Time Employees, PTO is accrued per anniversary year, beginning on the first day of employment, as follows: (based on 24 pay periods per year)
Years 1 through 5 - 5 hours per pay period, up to 15 days per year
Years 6 or more - 6.67 hours per pay period, up to 20 days per year
We understand emergencies and unforeseen events come up that are unplanned for. As an additional benefit, if an employee has maxed out their earned PTO balance, we provide the opportunity for employees to borrow up to 40 hours of unearned PTO.
During their first 90 days employees are not eligible for PTO. If a need arises, they can use unpaid time off during that period – in that case, leadership approval is needed and time is not entered into Time Entry for the unpaid time off.
When an employee leaves the company, whether he or she resigns or is terminated, he or she will be paid for any unused PTO that has accrued through the last day of work.
Flexible Work Schedule
As a benefit to our team and their families, we provide all employees the opportunity to participate in a flexible (Monday-Friday) work schedule. To serve our clients and fellow team members, employees are expected to be readily available during core workday hours (8am-5pm CT). Although the core hours are subject to change, the employee must have all their regularly scheduled hours accounted for (e.g. regular full-time employees must account for a minimum of 40 hours per week).
If the full number of hours are not achieved during a given pay period, eligible PTO may be used to make up for the time needed. Work outside of core hour times are flexible as long as the needs of the team, company and clients are being served well.
We have found working from home can often be a great benefit. Employees, whose position and schedule allows, may work from home as needed. The proper equipment, team communication, and work standards should be the same whether working from home or in the office.
Jury Duty
Employees summoned by a court to serve as jurors shall be given a leave of absence for the period of their jury duty. For up to three (3) days per year that a full-time employee serves as juror employee shall receive pay at their regular rate. In order to be eligible to receive jury duty pay from the Employer, an employee must:
Provide the Employer reasonable advanced notice of the time that the employee is required to report for jury duty;
Provide satisfactory evidence that the employee served as a juror at the summons of the court on the day that the employee claims to be entitled to jury duty pay;
Return to work promptly after being excused from jury duty service.
Every effort is made to make a plan for client coverage while the employee is out.
Should jury duty extend into a longer commitment, we will partner with the employee to create a plan that allows for the time while also covering client commitments.
Bereavement Leave
In the unfortunate event of a loss in a team members family, we want to be supportive of the time needed. Here is our overarching policy for full time employees:
1 day of paid leave for a funeral of distant family member or friend
3 days of paid leave for a funeral of an immediate family member or miscarriage
Note: We recognize that more time may be needed for a close loss and will partner with our employees to make sure they have what they need. Extended leave will be up to discretion as needed.
Health Coverage Options
With the rising cost and uncertainty of traditional health insurance programs, we have found medical sharing programs and direct primary care medical groups to be a much greater benefit for our employees. Not only have we experienced more personalized health care, the premium savings has become part of the quarterly profit-sharing program for our employees.
