Leaving a Legacy - Taking it back

The Fulling team is continuing to watch Leaving a Legacy - Stephanie Stuckey.

“Leading in today’s climate is tough enough. However, leaving a legacy that matters is what counts. Stephanie Stuckey lays out a process of how to not just lead well but how to lead with leaving a legacy in mind.”

-Together, we talked about how we feel pivoting is a part of our job and daily lives.  We “pivot” in monthly meetings with our clients based on how things are going for them and what their concerns may be at that time.

-We also pivot a lot with team member changes and turnover and shifting of clients and workload.  We might need to learn a new client or task quickly.

-With Covid there were a lot of pivots that were made, and some brought about good change that has stuck (i.e. online church, etc.).

-We have to be willing to try things and no fear failure.

-When we need to learn a new skill quickly, we just need to jump in.  Some mentioned making sure to take good notes or reach out to others that may have done it or be more familiar.

Food for Thought

  1. Have you had a situation where you had to pivot unexpectedly? How did you handle it?

  2. What are some tools you’ve used when you had to learn a new skill quickly?

  3. What are some ways we can learn from the past but apply a creative lens to it?
