Rebuilding Trust: Lessons by Dr. Henry Cloud

In a recent Fulling team meeting, we watched “Rebuilding Trust” by Dr. Henry Cloud, which sparked important conversations about how trust is built, broken, and restored in the workplace.

What We Learned:

  • Broken trust often starts when leaders or team members don’t follow through on commitments.

  • Low trust leads to micromanagement, burnout, resentment, and breakdowns in collaboration.

  • Rebuilding trust takes:

    • Honest communication

    • Willingness to have tough conversations

    • A safe environment for feedback

    • Consistency and accountability over time

Dr. Cloud emphasized that forgiveness isn’t the same as trust — rebuilding trust is a process that requires repeated, reliable actions.

One Key Behavior for Fulling:

Consistent follow-through — doing what we say we’ll do — builds trust daily and strengthens our culture long-term.

Let’s keep showing up for each other, one trustworthy action at a time.
