Why We Still Get Together—in Person—As a Remote Team

Our team has been fully remote since 2020. Over the years, we’ve built a thriving virtual culture—one that supports collaboration, innovation, and deep connection. But once a year, we do something different: we come together in person.

So why do it? Here’s the value I see, year after year:

👋 Strengthened Relationships
Even with the strongest remote culture, there’s something uniquely powerful about being in the same room. The spontaneous conversations, the shared laughter, the non-verbal cues—all of it deepens trust and connection.

🔁 Reconnecting with Our Mission and Values
We take time to revisit the “why” behind our work. It’s an opportunity to reflect on what we stand for and recommit to the impact we’re here to create.

🧭 Casting Vision for the Future
Being together allows us to dream big and align around where we’re headed. We don’t just talk strategy—we build shared excitement and momentum for the road ahead.

🪴 Learning and Growing Together
Off-sites are a chance to stretch ourselves. We bring in new perspectives, challenge assumptions, and explore ways to grow both as professionals and as people.

🎉 Celebrating the Wins
We love to celebrate—and we should. Taking time to acknowledge the hard work, progress, and accomplishments across the organization fuels motivation and pride.

While we’ve proven that a strong culture can thrive remotely, there’s still an undeniable energy that only happens when we’re together in person. That energy is worth the investment—every time.
